Post subject: | How to buy? Tips for getting a good deal? |
OK, I never been into watches before but I happened to see the Breitling for Bentley and now absolutely must own the 6.75. It's life or death I tell ya. As much as I need this Breitling, I'm the kind of guy who needs to know he's not getting ripped off. I like to know I'm getting the best deal possible or at least close to it. But it's difficult to find pricing guides online. I don't have an objection to buying online, as long as I know the item is authentic, but I would like to try it on and see different options before buying. I am from Las Vegas, but currently live in Macau. None of my local sellers here have Breitling for Bentley that I've seen. I've heard Hong Kong is a good place to buy a watch - is this true? Singapore is another supposedly good option and I travel there often. In fact, bought my wife a Rolex there a couple years ago. But my question is this: how do I know a good deal when I see one? If the seller asks $XX, how much can I knock off for a respectable offer? Am I most likely to find the best deal in Hong Kong, Singapore, or the USA? Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated!!! |

Few things, (sorry if you know these already) I understand your compulsion of the ling thing....now as far as buying is concerned, you are right singapore from my experience is by far the cheapest option (not bought any lings from there but did buy an omega once, and my Rolex). Key is to go to the website and get recognized AD, second thing is be aware of customs regulations in your country, if you are planning on wearing it back then you have to be wary of customs asking questions (DISCLAIMER It is MY OPINION only, and I DONOT recommend anyone to break any law of thier countries). Customs aside, get the best conversion for your dollar, and hopefully this will make sure you get a very good deal ontop of that haggle, it is no problem in getting atleast 5% off, 10-20% is you stick to your guns, and tell them of you worthwile. If you experience in buying your wife rolex was like mine, i found the language barrier was difficult, but i tended to write figure on piece of paper in dollars and they tended to write back...and thus haggling towards a price. Be prepared to walk away, oh and NEVER say oh this is what i have been dying to get. Only recently shopping at jewl store of Florida i wanted to buy my wife a necklace, she stopped at the one she liked, and then declared this is the only one she has fallen inlove with. Needless to say i did buy it but at no particular discount!!. |
