Post subject:  Observations of the new Chronospace

While at my local AD yesterday, I decided to check out the new Chronospace they had in the case. Black dial on mesh bracelet. When these first came out this year, I wasn't to excited or impressed. I have a B-1 and love it, and have previously owned an Airwolf so I was familiar with the functions. At first glance I thought they were too big, and didn't like the over-size "3" and "9". But after actually handling it, I warmed up to it pretty quick. Some personal observations:

Pros- :D
-It was a lot lighter than I thought.
-It was very comfortable; there is no turbine on the caseback to dig in your wrist.
-Great legibility which I like because I just started wearing reading glasses
-Easy use of the slide rule

Cons-
-It wasn't cheap, and it's tough to justify that with a quartz watch (just my opinion)
-Since it's large, it's not for everybody

All in all, I was sure I was not going to like it, but ended up liking it A LOT.

What do you guys think? Anyone have one and want to share their thoughts?

I wasn't sure if I liked it when I first saw pictures but back in June at a little get together some of us UK members have I had a good look at Davey's one and tried it on and I must say I really like it, like you, I wasn't too sure about the size and the size of the numbers, but in the flesh it just kind of clicks.

I'd definitely add one to my list if I were looking for a quartz model, silver dial on the mesh, very nice!

I haven't had a chance to see and handle one yet. I like the look. Just curious, did you try it on and how did the size feel ? Wrist size?
Thanks

I did try it on, and it was VERY comfy. I have a 8" wrist so the size was not a factor. I am definitely going to give this model some more attention. :)

Thanks, it definitely may be an issue with my 7 inch wrist, bummer :( .

I was intrigued and tried one on as well.

It was a very good looking watch IMO and wore easily. The size was larger than my avengers but definitely wearable and comfortable.

I like it, but if I was going to get a quartz and could get only one I still think I'd lean towards an emergency.

I was initially put off by the size, but after trying it on, subsequent models seemed to be lacking something (size!).

When I re-tried it after trying other models, I could not take it off.

I still love it & it feels great on, not bulky or heavy as you'd expect.

I also got the light brown leather strap as an extra, which makes it into two completely different beasts, my preference swings with my mood & outfit, it only takes seconds to switch straps.

I would recommend buying, if you do not hate it, you'll love it (if you know what I mean).

Now that the mechanical version has been announced, I am really excited for that one. I love the way it looks, I just hope the MSRP won't give me sticker shock. :wowzers

That auto version is pretty slick if you ask me

Hiya

Well I love mine. But it's size does prevent me from wearing it too work, mainly because it'd get bashed big time!

The functions are all there, and the alarm is LOUD. So is the Lume!!!!!

As mentioned in a previous post, the bracelet is easy to change, so different looks feels are endless.

It's big, but not in profile, so easily wearable with a shirt and suit.

I am very unhappy about the announcement of an auto version. This only because it's gonna cost me, I can feel it a coming.

You figure out all the functions yet? I remember when you first got it you sounded a bit perplexed ha ha.

I'd say that if you're going to go quartz, go big! The watch has a lot of personality and, if you can pull it off, go for it.

I like the look of it but wish it had the added function of a rotating timer/diver bezel.
