Post subject: | Just Serviced My EMERGENCY. I'm ANGRY!! |
I just serviced my Emergency Mission. The battery died and I sent it to Breitling through my local Torneau store. Polishing was done nicely and the battery was replaced. I'm OK with the $400+ service charge. I'm even OK with the 6 weeks to get the watch back. What I am NOT happy about is that is was returned to me in a Ziploc bag instead of the nice neoprin zipper Breitling travel case that I have gotten on previous Breitlings that I have had serviced. Did Breitling discontinue providing the travel cases for service or did my local Torneau store do something "fishy"??? Thanks for the help. Nick |

As far as I know Breitling haven't discontinued the travel cases, so I'm not sure why your watch was in a ziploc bag. I would've been a bit irritated too. Obviously I can't speak for your branch of Torneau (and fortunately they don't have a UK presence, so I have no personal experience of them to draw upon), but from what some people have posted on here, they don't strike me as the best AD in terms of staff knowledge or service. It's worth asking them I reckon. |

That is unacceptable! I had my Chrono Avenger serviced a month ago by the Canadian Breitling service centre and was returned to me in a gorgeous neoprene service case. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I just called the store and spoke to a manager. I asked her if I sent a watch out to Breitling, would it come back in the travel case?? She said yes. I then told her about my experience and that I SPECIFICALLY asked the girl who accepted my $400+ payment, "where is the travel case?" to which she replied "they don't give those anymore". The Manager's response to me was "Oh, we have them here. Just come in and ask for one. We don't always give them to people when they pick up their watches because they are too 'bulky' "..........WHAT BULLS%@#!!!!! That REALLY stinks!! |

I knew it before I got to the punch line. That's how Tourneau stores their watches. What a complete and utter bunch of bullshit! And worse yet, chances are the salesperson had NO IDEA. They grab them off the mall popcorn cart. It's clearly corporate policy to do this stuff. Ever notice their used pieces do not come with boxes or papers?? You think they just throw them away??? They do something with them. Same thing they are doing with people's travel kits. And that's what they are - perfect travel kits that Breitling provides for a reason - so their CUSTOMERS get to use them. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Translation: "We keep them for ourselves or to give as gifts to other customers. We hope that nobody notices, but if they do, we tell them that they are too bulky." On a side note, ive never had a full service done on a Breitling, but ive had warranty work done a couple of times, and both times I got them back in a plastic bag after a "basic service" was performed. I always assumed that basic service didnt get a travel case back, but now im wondering if the AD took mine too ![]() |

The travel kit is SOP for a returning watch form BUSA. |

That's why I always go directly to Breitling and avoid the AD. I sent two 25 year old Breitlings wrapped in bubble wrap. One I exchanged towards the purchase of a new watch and the other I asked to be returned to exchange at a future time. The returned watch came in the fantastic neoprene case. |

I had a similar "issue" with a Rolex and a Breitling back from a service via my AD. Both were returned to me in ziplock bags. The AD on a later occasion made up for it by giving me 2 neoprene cases. |

I serviced several watches at Breitling and they always sent my watch in a nice service box. The last one was about 3 months ago. Probably it was a mistake, but I will complain at the service center. Alex |
