Hey everyone,
I'll get to the point- I cringe slightly when I see watches with diamond bezels etc. I think the whole addition of diamonds to a beautifully designed watch just detracts from the watch and kind of brings the brand down. I also think that the small bit of criticism that some people have of breitling as nouvo riche partly stems from this...now, before I get slated- I have no problem with anybody who decides diamonds are for them. I'm sure people would not like my taste either- thats life! But I am curious of peoples opinions on the forum, hence please vote in the poll!!
Cheers!!
Tubs
PS. Again, I don't mean to offend anyone and I am just expressing an opinion whether you deem it valid or not!

Offended or not : I hate it on any men's watch. For woman it's ok as long as they are real and are worn by
classy lady's, not Snooki-like beached whales.

I don't have a problem with the OEM diamond bezels that Breitling uses, personally I'm not into them, but I don't hate anyone who is either. There are some very nice looking Chronomats with diamond bezels out there.

Tastefully done on a ladies watch maybe... Diamonds are a girls best friend after all..

So IMO... Leave it to the girls...

I voted for "not offended" only because I've seen a Flying B or two that look really fantastic with diamonds. One of the few watches that diamonds actually compliment, IMO.

Almost every other watch with diamonds I've seen has not been to my liking - I'm still open to it but it's not generally my cup of tea.

Like the others I certainly don't wish to offend anyone and this is just my opinion but I think that in general diamonds on a gents watch are incredibly gauche, tacky and just a bit too 'try hard'. (A real, "Look at how rich I am" kind of statement).

However I say "in general" because I can appreciate the fact that the OEM Breitling bezels can look OK aesthetically and there is no question that they are immaculately finished. I've said it here before, but Ron's Chronomat is a great example of diamonds done correctly IMO. However, that doesn't mean I'd remotely ever consider wearing diamonds myself.

Diamonds are for the ladies IMHO. Sorry.

I used to be of the same opinion as everyone above, I thought Diamonds were tacky and gaudy. I saw a friend of mine wearing a OEM Diamond bezel SA and thought it looked amazing.
I tried it on and bought it from him a week later. I sold the diamond SA to buy a Rose Gold Bentley LE and missed it so much I bought a new one at my AD within three days of selling the original. I wore that watch 80% of the time and never felt it was tacky and definitely not feminine. I do cringe when I see some aftermarket channel set bezels but to each their own.

This is just my two cents on the matter as I went through dislike, to accpetance, to absolute love of a particular watch with diamonds. I felt the same way about gold and ended up with a rose gold watch!

Mark

PS: I think the Chrono Evolution looks amazing with an OEM diamond bezel also

I like them as long as they are done tastefully. I don't like the overkill that some people have posted here, but diamonds instead of numbers or batons on the dial looks ok. A lot of bezels are overdone but a diamond bezel can look cool if done right. At the end of the day, I couldn't justify spending the $$$ on diamonds for my watches.

Diamonds aren't my thing, but I have no problem with people who want to wear them - plenty of watches for us all.

I hated them......until ........ I found a nice pre-owned Cockpit with a MOP dial and OEM diamond bezel. Actually I like it very much, but not at all as an every day watch.

I like them on my wife's watch. I don't think I'd every wear a watch with diamonds.

That’s what she said, err, I said.

Actually with a modest promotion of sorts and job shift, I now find I will be traveling a lot for meetings in mostly vacation type destinations (Vegas, West Palm, etc…). Serious business/politicking during the day followed by informal business disguised as partying at night.

A JLC Master Calendar for the more formal wrangling :plot: and the “special” Cockpit for the evening festivities :cigar: .

Always thinking ahead. At least every now and then.

Not for me at all, no way.

Don't really have strong views one way or the other about diamonds on ladies' watches. Most don't do much for me, but there are a couple I really like (the UN Starry Night being one).
