Can you use other brand deployant buckles on the ocean racer strap? I'm considering trying to fit an ocean racer with a Sinn U2 deployant buckle. Anyone know if this can be done. Thanks in advance.

Possibly, as long as the clasp uses spring-bars at either end and is the correct width to fit the strap. From what I remember from owning a UX, the Sinn deployant is certainly similar, so you may get lucky and find it fits. However there's a much bigger chance IMO that even if it fits, it'll look odd in some way. i.e. maybe too much of a gap somewhere, or the clasp will be too thick for the strap to sit right, or vice versa, or whatever. Basically what I'm saying is that even if it should fit on paper (i.e. right width, spring bars at either end, etc) it may still look rubbish even when it's on.

If I was you, I'd try and save up the cash for the genuine Breitling clasp. It's much better quality than the Sinn version and you will obviously get an exact fit.

Thanks for the info. I think I will hold out for the big ticket breitling buckle.

I have said it before and I will say it again....Although the price is pretty high for the clasp, it is well worth it.

Get it and dont look back

Where is the best best to get one of these. My AD is not too big on offering much of a discount.

Not sure where you are, but in the US George at Govberg can help (pm jnelson3097 for his contact details) and in the UK, Banks Lyon or Andrew Michaels (both sponsors at the top of the page) can help you out.

AD's don't tend to offer much in the way of discounts on accessories as they are generally not big ticket items so the margins aren't very high.

Still, give the contact's Roff given you and you might do OK.

I have the ocean racer and deployant on my daily wearer. It fits perfectly due to the micro adjuster and is super comfortable.I still think the clasp is overpriced though. But maybe more reasonably priced for you guys across the pond.
