Is there a reason as to why Breitling only uses White Thread on their straps? I feel like they should match the thread with the strap OR at least give you an option, right? Also, wouldn't black thread on a black croc last longer by sustaining a cleaner look whereas the White thread would eventually become dirty? Just something I thought about, what are your opinions?

I think the white thread looks good on the more expensive/upper-end models. I like matching thread to strap or another contrast color for the sportier models. I'm sure as usual it comes down to added cost to offer a wider range of choices. Maybe it's something Breitling does intentionally to keep a more sophisticated product line (?). |

I agree with the "option" that you suggest as the white thread on my strap shows a slight chaffing near the clasp. |

Just think it would be a cool option and to "dress it up" to your ow personal preference.

There are no absolutes, but actually contrast stitching is typically used for sportier watches, matching stitching for pure dress watches. Look at the dispaly cases. JLC's or Breguet's pure dress watches use matching stitching. On their sportier models (like the JLC master compressors) the leather straps tend to use contrast stitiching. A Patek will have matching stitching. From top to bottom Breitling is esssentially a sports watch. And their straps support that intent with contrast stitiching. It's a function of intended styling, not pricing. |

Breitling's opinion is that it is part of their image. I know for a fact that they have refused to do different coloured stitching as part of a custom order in the past. There are enough aftermarket strap options that I don't see it as that big a deal. |
