Hi, So I recently bought my dream watch, Navi World..and i absolutely love it... It's been about 2 weeks, and the watch stopped 3 times because i didn't use it... ![]() I know the power reserve is only about 42 hours, and for those three times i didn't wear my watch for a full day or two...mainly because i have a daily Quartz Seiko watch that i jus use for daily use. perhaps i'm jus getting used to the automatic watch (it's my first automatic...) I will be wearing it more often, but I am sure i won't be wearing it 7 days a week (probably 4~5 days). When i know i won't be using the watch for a day or two, should i just wind the crown 20~30 times before putting it into the drawer? How often do you guys wear your breitling? (Oh, and why do they exactly say wind the crown 40 times before pulling it out and adjust the time? |

I think you may want to get yourself a watch winder. Congrats on the Navi world, put the Seiko down ,and wear the Ling. |

40 winds will give a full power reserve. Reckon on 30 turns for each day that you don't wear it and it will stay wound. Either that or as MacApple says, get a winder and just put it on there when not wearing it. |

Do a search on here, this is one of the most discussed topics on BreitlingSource. There are basically two types of winder - cheap Chinese ones that may last 6 months or may last several years, but are then pretty much throw away, or expensive ones that are a little better and at least have a good warranty. I'm guessing that this is an overpriced Chinese one because it's too cheap for a decent one. |

I wear my Ling usually daily. For the occasion when not on my wrist, I use one of these: http://www.wolfdesigns.com/product/176/ ... orage.html It's super quiet which is important because I am a very light sleeper as is my wife and it's about 5' from my head. Fully adjustable with clockwise, counter-clockwise or both directions and I think 300-1200 rotations per day. The MOST important thing, built in breaks to ensure you don't have it sitting on there fully wound and still winding non stop. it has a delay function as well. Maybe that is not the most important thing, but it is to me. No breaks in the rotations = no buy IMO! If your interested in the Wolf one, let me know and I will give you contact info for a guy at thier head office in the US who can hook you up. |

The navis are easy since they dont have a screw down crown. Just wind it and set it back down. Simple. |

He means since it doesn't have a screw down crown, you don't have to unscrew the crown to wind it. Just pick it up, give it the necessary cranks and set it back down. Or go on Amazon and order a winder. Yeah, pretty sure that's what the advice means. ![]() |

navitimerworld wrote: wow i didn't know Breitlings had screw-down crowns on other models... ok i'm a real newb Give it time and you'll be back here saying "Which Breitling should I wear today?" It's a bug, you've already got it, it's just the symptoms aren't yet showing, give it time! I wear 'a' Breitling maybe 5 days a week and either my Seiko auto or Helson Bucaneer on the other days. They are all autos so I invested in a 6 watch winder a while ago, no fannying around setting time and dates, I like to 'watch and go' ![]() Stef |
