Can it be done. Can you add a third party deployment clasp? Can not believe how expensive the Breitling rubber deployment straps are. Thanks

You can add a 3rd party deployant to a standard tang and buckle Breitling rubber strap like the original Diver Pro (not a Breitling strap designed for the Breitling deployant), but the quality is never as good as OEM. For example, this will probably work -

as probably will this -

Thanks, how do you get the tang off? Have an original Breitling diver (the one without the breitling name on the outside)

The tang is held on with a spring bar from memory (as opposed to screws), just depress the end and it will come off.

Driver 8, I'm purchasing a brand new Limited Edition Brietling BO1 but I hate the clasp on that watch. I realize that I shouldn't be making any changes to a limited edition watch, or even the bracelet, but all the same, I want to remove the original deployment buckle and add a third party one that is heavier and more solid. Can you recommend any brands?

Just out of curiosity, why would you add a deployment clasp to a rubber bracelet? I assume a rubber bracelet would outlast a leather one any day. Is it a convenience thing? More comfortable?

My apologies, I didn't see the title of this thread, but need help with the issue all the same. It's the Breitling Limited Edition BO1 with the metal bracelet. I don't like the Breitling deployment clasp, would prefer a sturdier one from another brand. Many thanks

So if I'm understanding this correctly, you want to change the deloyant on the metal bracelet? If so, then I'd strongly urge against it as nothing will look as good as the original, and I'm also pretty sure you won't find anything that will fit. Additionally I'm not sure if you'd even be able to find anything that's sturdier anyway - the Breitling bracelets are very well made and I've never come across a case of a bracelet clasp failing.

So even though I strongly urge against changing it, I can't actually recommend an alternative anyway I'm afraid. Sorry.

Thanks Driver8. I'll stick with your advice and stay with the original.
