From a marketing/advertising standpoint why wouldn't Breitling make different packaging styles? For example... The emergency gets a pretty badass/cool packaging setup. Then there is the "typical" "standard" box that the Chronomats come in which is fine. But why would the Bentleys and then the Navitimers and most of the other models come in that box too? I feel like that would be a cool thing to design for each model. That way you know which watch belongs to each box. IMO That is just plain stupid. Especially someone like BREITLING you think they would have thought about this decades ago! Does anyone else think this way too or am I just loosing it? ![]() |

It's kinda like christmas/or birthdays when you were a kid(OR EVEN NOW! ![]() It would just be cool to see how creative they COULD make it! |

I think the bentleys have their own style boxes, at least the outer box. Someone with a bentley can probably confirm that though. |

I think the outer box that has the planes on it though is also different. |

Its all about cost, to design and produce a ton of different boxes would be quite costly for really no benefit to the owner, other than a "cool" box. Thus it would drive the prices up of the watches themselves, so you can see it really doesn't make economic or logical sense. |

Never bought a watch because the box was cool, never worn the box, never considered the box after putting it safely away. Maybe it's just me, but I couldn't give two hoots about the box that it comes in - in fact there's an argument that says that the simpler the better - that way my money goes into the watch and not the box. |

Agree completely! But still, when your spending give or take 8K on a watch I would not want the box to look the same as the 3K Breitling. Just doesn't make sense. |

I can see where your coming from a bit. But I can also see the point that Roff and others make. I guess I would like to see a bit of a nicer box, something wooden like PAM does. Thats all. |

Exactly! Im not saying anything crazy...just different! Keep them all the same or keep them all different, one or the other. But yes, the PAM Boxes are nice indeed! ![]() I just think it is a cool thing to have whether you can wear it on your wrist or not lol For the record, (I could be weird) but I would never purchase a Breitling (or anything else on that level) with out the original box. And there are those people out there who do not have the original boxes so they just buy boxes off of Ebay to compensate for the lost box. I think by personalizing the boxes according to the series it will help prevent a lot fishy things people do out there and wanting to ever want to get rid of the box in the first place because they would realize that the odds of finding a box to match the series would be decreased. JMO. Right? |

I completely disagree, but im also somebody that would prefer no Breitling box at all if it saved me $100-200 (and didnt lower the resale value). While cool to look at right when I get a watch, they simply disappear into one of the many dark areas of my house, only to surface when a watch has been sold. Id be pretty annoyed thinking about how my watch cost me $100 more than it would have since the company decided to do 10 different styles of box. |

I respect your opinion. I do see your point if it was lesser of a watch. But for Breitling? Nope. I feel like presentation upon arrival is very important. Being in the Cosmetic Packaging industry one thing that I can say from and advertising standpoint, the packaging does sell the product. NOT the product itself. Now do I think that is is even comparable to compare Watch and Perfumes....NO. But people still do care about presentation. Dont get me wrong this will never stop me from buying Breitlings, because I have my next few all ready picked out ![]() ![]() |

Unlike most consumer goods the packaging is completely irrelvant to the actual sale. |

I Just Want To Add That When Buying Pre-Owned From Tourneau, One Never Gets Any Of The Original Box Or Papers. However, One Can Get A Good Deal Every Once In-A-While, With A One Year Warranty And The Watch Does Get Shipped Back To Breitling From Tourneau! (Had An Issue With Both The 50th Anniversary and The 1461/52 And In Both Occasions Tourneau Sent The Watches Back To Breitling!) However, I Have The Correct Box For The 1461/52 From A Previous Navitimer Of The Same Time Period That I Had Once Owned - Yet At The End Of The Day Who Cares, It's Not Like Anyone Is Ever Going To See The Box. The Box Simply Gets Tucked Away Somewhere! ![]() As A Result Lack Of Original Box Or Papers When Buying A Watch From An Authorized Dealer Would Not Deter Me From Making The Said Purchase! ![]() ![]() Cheers, Enezdez |
