Hey guys im new here and just needed a couple of questions answered. I just got my 1st Breitling a 2005 SuperOcean Chrono. I bought it off my buddy who upgraded to a SA. Now my question are... 1. Should i send it to BUSA for a full service?? Its never been serviced and ive read on here you should get it done every 4-6 years. It runs fine from what i see so far, if that matters in answering that question. 2. Do they polish the whole watch when you get a full service?? (face, bezel, band, ect)?? Would they give me a new bezel if they cant get every scratch out of it cause theres alot on it?? 3. How much do hey charge for a full service?? Thanks in advance!! Joe |

1) As a general rule a watch should be sent in every 5-7 years, but the best indicator is when the watch begins to run outside of COSC specifications (-4/+6 seconds a day). Changes in power reserve also indicate the need for a service. 2) A complete overhaul includes a polish/refurb. Anecdotally, the results are very good - restoring the watches to near perfect condition. Gouges, and deep dings would most likely not be polished out. Replacing the bezel would be a separate charge. They wouldn't really do this unless you specifically requested it or the functionality of the bezel was affected. 3) I believe a full chrono service is 450 USD |

Not much I can add. Breitling will generally offer you the choice of replacing the bezel if they can't restore it to factory like conditions, but don't insist. |

Thanks for the advice. I just tried cleaning it alil bit and noticed it was just dirt in the corners of the bezel. Should i still send it in for a full service even if it is running fine?? |

It's only just in the 5 - 7 year window so you may have a couple of years yet. |

yes and also I don't think Breitling would ever polish the "face" (crystal) becasue of the AR coating. AS with the others, if it's running well, let it be. |
