Post subject:  Was my Breitling serviced?

Recently, I purchaed a Navitimer Cosmonaute with the manual movement, but from what I have seen and read from its' history, they all seem to have silver hands.

Mine has blued steel hands, and I read in its' history that the blued hands are usually placed by Breitling when you have it serviced.

What I don't know is if whether or not it has been serviced. Since I am the third owner of this watch, the previous owner did NOT know if the ORIGINAL owner had it serviced or not.

Are there experts out there who will be able to chime in on this?

Thanks in advance!

You can't rely on the colour of the hands to determine servicing.

Most cosmo's had blue hands. There were some 12322 models that had silver hands and those were usually replaced with blue hands at servicing (hands have to be replaced during servicing), but most had blue from new.

There is no definitive way of knowing if the watch was serviced, short of a receipt (there is one exception but it's very uncommon).

If your watch is keeping good time, don't worry, if not, get it serviced.
