Post subject:  Question about buying a Breitling???

Hey guys. Im new here and to watches. I been wanting to buy my a Breitling for a long time now and im finally ready. Theres a couple of Jewelers by me that have what im looking for, for alot cheaper then Breitling AD's like Tourneau. Im looking to purchase a Brand New Evolution and Tourneau is charging $5,000 and these Jewelers are willing to sell them to me for $3,400 to $3,500. My question is, does this mean that these Jewelers are selling me a fake?? I know that Tourneau is a rip off but that is a big diference. Can anyone help with any advise??

Thanks in advance!!!

Depending on what bracelet/strap option you're looking at that's around 30% off, which is a pretty good discount but not unheard of. A lot of people on here can get 30% pretty regularly, or so it seems.

Tourneau just sucks, they don't discount and their service generally sucks, at least the one in Vegas does and I haven't heard amy good things about the rest of them either.

Very nice.

One thing you can do is go to the Breitling website and look up the AD's in your area. The website isn't perfect, but the store you were looking at might be on there. But if it isn't that doesn't necessarily mean that they're not an AD, Breitling doesn't seem to update their website very often.

$3500 for that one is just about 30% off, pretty damn good deal but nothing to really get suspicious about.

I would recommend getting George from Govberg's contact info and give him a call. An authorized dealer and many members here have gone through him with nothing but good things to say about dealing with him.

Tourneau is known for not giving many discounts.

It's ok buying from a not an AD as long os paperwork matches up and make sure you can return it within a few days just to see if it runs to COSC specs but you can't go wrong with George, but you can definitely go wrong with Tourneau bad service way overpriced snotty sales people and sometimes defective watches..

I don't think I'd buy from a flea market jeweler or Tourneau.

You'll have to call for a price and be sure to tell him you're a member on here.

Not quite that simple with grey market.

You also have to make sure that the serial number is intact, otherwise Breitling will never service it, and you have to accept that you have no warranty.

Also, most new watches from an AD will be outside of COSC specs for the first few days (or weeks) as they settle - it's not evidence that the watch has problems.

At the OP - I am removing the photo of the watch that you are interested in - it has the name of a replica site plastered all over it!

Uhh definitely incorrect. Tourneau's service sucks, yes, but they do discount. I was able to get close to 30% on my S.A. and without negotiation they were going to do 10% on a PAM I was looking at. No discount on Rolex, and in fact they were trying to charge me over MSRP for a Sub-C.

I guess they're all different, but the one I was at wouldn't even discount a used Omega, let alone a new one. Granted I was in Vegas, but I haven't heard about them discounting much anywhere else either. 10% off of a PAM is surprising, especially at Tourneau.

+1 for George at Govberg! :lingsrock:

There are many members selling great used Breitlings on this site, but you can't beat buying a brand new watch from an AD...
