Well, last week I again joined the ranks of the happy Breitling owner. After more than a year, I was delighted to be back - with my new Steelfish. While I loved the silver (cream) dial, with the brown leather strap, a few things kept bugging me all week: 1) The execptionally tight winding/crown movement mechanism, which I found out today is all to do with the crown 2) I had seen a Seawolf with a yellow dial in the display case, which I never tried on and could not get it out of my mind 3) The more subdued, however beautiful, look of the silver dial with the brown leather did not quite satisfy the "blinginess" and sheer heftiness that I sometimes crave. I agonized all week about what to do. Should I hang on to the Steelfish, and hope that it ends up being as satisfying as I would like? Should I flip it on the forums and lose some serious cash? Or: should I talk to my AD and see what they can sort out for me? After a sleepless night, down to Time & Gold in Vancouver, and Michael - who sold me the Steelfish - was there. I told him that I thought I made a mistake, and should have looked at the Seawolf last week. No problem, he said, have a look at the Seawolf, and if you decided it is the one you want, then I will give you full credit for the Steelfish, and apply the same discount to the Seawolf, and it's a done deal. We just want you to be happy! Not only did he do that, he discounted it even a few more percentage points, and I left happy. Here is the final result of the transaction, and I feel in my heart the right thing was done. Plus, they got another grand out of me, so it's all good: Sorry for the washed out effect of the yellow. In reality, it matches the Breitling yellow in the background. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sorry for the poor pics, which do not do the watch justice at all. Tomorrow, I hope my buddy Dan will take some wrist shots for me with his iPhone. I have always wanted a yellow or coral dial. The owner of my AD told me today that he had seen the yellow dial at Basel, and apparently this is the first they have had in. The ones in the past have all been black dials. To me, it makes the watch even more special, as he had gone for the dial colour. It doesn't show in the pics, but it is a real match for the Breitling yellow. I was thinking of a black Diver Pro, but with the silver markers and stencilled arabics on the dial, it looks stunning with the brushed steel Pro II. Plus, I have the added bonus of being able to give my watch a "bath" every night, which I could not do with the Steelfish/leather strap. That's it for awhile! Thanks for looking! Cheers, Carl |

Great watch Carl. I have always been a big fan of the yellow dial Breitlings, and this one is no exception. I would still give the DPII on deployment another thought...I think it's a great combo, and would look killer!! |

I'm not into yellow dials but that looks very nice. Congrats on getting what you really wanted. |

Love the seawolf. The yellow is nice, but I especially like the blue dial. Nice pick up. Glad to know you didn't settle and went after what you really wanted. BTW, we need wrist shots! |

That's what I like about you Carl - you are always so decisive ![]() Glad that you got yourself peace of mind, and yet another reason to work with ADs - congrats. |

Congrats Carl. Nice to see you've come back to the Seawolf. The yellow one certainly is something special. My AD also mentioned that since it's release, they've only received one yellow dial, which was the one I had purchased. I have a hard time prying mine off my wrist. ![]() |

I had an OR on my last Seawolf, with the black dial, only wish I still had that strap. I don't feel like forking out 4 or 5 hundred bucks right now. No worries, it comes with a regular tang buckle anyway, which I don't mind. And I am really liking the steel PROII. Esp. with the silvered items on the dial! Cheers, Carl |

exnucboy wrote: It's a beautiful watch in yellow. Here is mine with a dp II in blue. ![]() Breitling has some of the best dial colours! That blue is outstanding as well. I have never seen it with a black strap before, and it looks very good! The white numbers and markers look wonderful as well, an excellent contrast with the blue, and fitting right in with the background of the date window. The yellow dial is a bit different again, as it has the silver coloured numbers. They match the marker and date window frames, so everything fits very well! The attention to detail on these dials is absolutely fantastic. The glareproof crystal is not normally important to me, I can take it or leave it. However, with this vivid yellow - and I'm sure with the blue also - I am really appreciating it. On the Seawolf, I have only seen the black and yellow dials so far. Not actually seen a blue, grey or silver before. Finding the yellow dial at my AD was a bit of a surprise, and apparently the first they had of this model. Cheers, Carl |
