I was having a play earlier with my Navi's slide rule and realised that I just couldn't leave it where it was. I had to return it back to the original position, where the red '10' markers met. I find I am the same with my Colt. I have to have the bezel back in the regular position. Is this normal? Is anything normal on this site? ![]() |

Same here. If its not perfectly aligned, bad things will happen. The last time my Navi bezel was a micron off centre, severe flooding occurred in Yorkshire. Its a heavy burden indeed, but the responsibility is ours...check your bezels regularly guys, the future of mankind depends on us. |

I agree with you on the Navitimer. After using the slide rule on my Navi, I return it to the "neutral" position. However, on my B1 because the slide rule and the outer bezel shift differently, I make sure the dot on the bezel is at the 12 o'clock position, which means the slide rule doesn't line up. Dave |

I always line my Navi up, but my SuperOcean i find more aesthetically pleasing if the rider tab is in between 1 and 2. |

I'm with you ewen! My wife had her bezel wrong by 180 degrees the other day - I nearly passed out when I saw the luminous dot glowing at 6 o'clock - does she not realise the forces at work here? ![]() |

Well, I guess to a "normal" person, all this talk about slide rule/bezel position, strap types, bracelet etc. would seem really abnormal. ![]() So, I guess in that perspective nothing is normal on this site. However, to me your posting makes perfect sense. If I don't have my bezel lined up at exactly 12 o'clock I have to fix it right away. Occasionally, at work the watch brushes up against something, and as the 12 o'clock marker protrudes a bit more than the others, it catches and the bezel gets pushed around a bit. When I tell my friends about the discussions on here, they really do roll their eyes in amazement.I think it is probably easier to pick out a handbag and a matching pair of shoes than for us to make up our minds about which color of dial to get! I guess the farthest thing from "normal" is how totally absorbed we all our in our passion of Breitling, and other watches. But hey, to me and you it's totally normal, and we are having a ball, so that's what counts. If I ever start being normal, then I pretty much know the end is near! Have fun! Cheers, Carl |

Post subject: | Bezel alignment |
When we are on this topic, can the bezel be aligned at 12 position when slide rule is aligned? On my B1 when the slide rule is aligned the bezel 12 position is about 1mm off to the right. Can this be aligned?? I notice the 4 small screws on the outer side of the bezel, could this be the release points for bezel alignment? |

The B1 is well known for having the gearing of the inner bezel slightly different to the outer bezel. You may have to go round several times to get in lined up.... if at all. |

When I got mine I went round and round and round.............and round - you get my drift - and the closest I got was as described about a mil (limetre) away from lined up. I can live with that as it's nearly there and the bezel is lined up OK. As for the 4 screws..................well - let us know what happens when you undo them! No, but seriously, I don't know so would wait for the answer from someone who was brave enough. Was it Altair who kept takin' stuff apart? There's a challange! ![]() |

The other day I looked down and saw the lume at 3. The first thing I thought was (panicked) "what the hell?!?!? How long has it been like this?!!?!" |
