Post subject: | Are PrestigeTime, Jomashop etc... selling authentic Breitli? |
Hi, More specifically, I am looking to buy this Breitling (I have seen/touched it in real life and the list price is indeed about the same as the one posted on these sellers' web sites): http://www.prestigetime.com/item.php?item_id=5888 (no testimonials provided) http://www.jomashop.com/breitling-chron ... -435x.html (good and bad testimonials) Why would anyone sell a limited edition watch (500 pieces) at a discount, and especially at such a steep discount? Are these authentic watches? Thank you for your insights, JP |

I've not used either myself, but a mate of mine bought a Chronomat Evo from Jomashop recently and apart from not getting the Chronometer Certificate, he is well pleased with it. He is sending his Chronomat off to Breitling for authentication in order to get a replacement certificate, so we'll soon know if it's genuine! (To be honest I've look at it, and I'm a certain as I can be that it is 100% genuine). Jomashop also have a ton of reviews on the net. Most are very good, although there are some bad reviews too. HOWEVER, from what I've seen, all the bad reviews tend to be around customer service and not having stock available, etc etc. I've not found a single one that says a watch they have sold is fake. Prestigetime seem to have very good reviews and a couple of the guys on here have purchased watches from them - Brian (Flynbyu) springs to mind as he bought his Navi World from them. I think there is a review in the Feedback section of this forum, but either way I've only ever heard good things about them on here. The reason for cheaper prices is because they are not official Authorised Breitling Dealers, which means they aren't constrained by the MRRP. AD's will mark up by something like 40%ish, so if non-AD's buy at cost they can still mark up by 10%, thus make a profit and undercut the AD's by some margin. However, you will not get the manufacturer warranty from a non-AD, and you may always have a nagging doubt in the back of your mind about authenticity, that you won't have to worry about from an AD. |
