I recently got a steelfish (well when I get it back from the AD) and I love the watch but wonder if its possible to get a clear sapphire crystal caseback to see the movement? I know it will kill the amazing water resistant level but I dont even plan on letting it see the sea let alone go down a few thousand meters

There was a guy in Germany who used to make aftermarket display backs for watches like the Chronomat Evo - not sure if he ever did one for the Steelfish - but I've not seen anything from him for ages. He used to sell them on eBay and I've not seen any for a while.

ok thanks for the info, will take a look around the bay,

I dont even know what the movement of the steelfish is like as i cant find any pics, does anyone have one?

would doing this void the warranty?

All Breitling movements are reasonably well finished and it will look like this - http://www.breitlingsource.com/details/B17.html

Personally I wouldn't put an aftermarket DB on it if I was you. It is very likely to invalidate the warranty, so check with Breitling first before you go ahead (assuming you can even find a DB for it....... which will be unlikely I think).

EDIT - Bnewbie beat me to it, but I'd typed it anyway! :)

Not only will it void the warranty, it will void any chance of Breitling ever touching the watch.
