I'm always interested in the Reno Air Races Breitling LE's as I think the Reno logo just works so well on black dial watches. It's also one of the few logo versions that's I'd like to buy. This year I was expecting a Reno Chronospace (as it's a new model, and a definite pilot's watch) or if prayers were REALLY answered, a Reno Chronomat B01. Now that would've been a serious must buy! However, as it is, the Air Races organisers and/or Breitling chose the CM49 this year -

Looks nice enough, but the CM49's rubber bezel (and non-in-house movement) is more than enough to put me off paying $5240 for one.

And the crown is still on the wrong side :!:

That dial does work well as we are used to seeing with the reno pieces, but not for me on that watch.

Yeah that too!

@FEAR - Check out the official Reno Air Races website for the phone number to order one.

http://www.airrace.org/indexJS.php

There's only 50 being made, so might be worth getting on the case asap if you want one.

they had them at the breitling chalet at the air races, 4 of them actually, one of each strap they come on. out of the 50 they made, only 30 end up for sale to the public and then they make them on bracelt, rubber, rubber racer and leather tang, so really each one is like one of 8 or so.

here is what i asked, why is the regular non special edition 2$k MORE than the special edition at list price??

Maybe just as a sweetener to make sure they sell them. I guess that the Reno Air Races "company" (if that's how it's set up) has to buy them as a bulk order from Breitling, and they probably don't want them lying around for any longer than they have to.

If this was a Reno branded B01, I'd have been on it straight away. Fingers crossed for next year!
