I find the crown on the SuperOcean Steelfish very difficult to grip, and when I do my fingers seem to slide all over it, and very difficult to tighten it up again. Never had the problem on my Super Ocean (1997), nor do I have it on my Skyland. When I look on the Breitling website, the 360 degree view for the Steelfish is the previous 42mm model, and the crown does not look as smoothed out as the new 44mm one. I actually find it kind of annoying, although I seldom need to adjust the watch. Does anyone know if crowns are interchangeable, ie the old 42mm on the new one. Maybe I will take a trip to my AD and check it out. I love going in there anyway, so it will be a good excuse to make the trip. Also, does anyone else notice this or am I being too picky? If this is the biggest problem I have to face, I am a lucky man indeed! Cheers, Carl |

I actually DID find that a bit of a problem on my Steelfish, Carl. I've got rugby-players-hands, so very fine things can be a bit fiddly! The crown on my SA is much easier. I'm pretty sure you could have the crown changed, but I suspect not by Breitling. They are very precious about making non-standard modifications to their watches. However I reckon a reputable watch-maker or even some of the watch modification websites will be able to sort you out. |

I have to say I feel a little fumbly when dealing with this crown also. It doesn't seem to have "teeth" like most dive watches have on their crown. It feels like I'm trying to roll a cigar with oven mitts on. I do like the aesthetic look though. |
