A bit later this year, but they were released over the weekend. As expected, there were some big cuts, but the numbers are truly shocking. I am trying to confirm but I believe that these are mechanical only as the percentage reductions don't make sense otherwise. For comparison, Breitling in 2008 was 3rd on the list (behind Rolex and Omega). 2008 Breitling numbers were 234,021 mechanical and 56,224 SQ. Again, the numbers below are (I think) mechanical only. 1) Rolex - 607,512 (down 21%) 2) Omega - 187,558 (down 50%) 3) Breitling - 108,220 (down 55%) I am shocked that the numbers were this low - even if this is mechanical only, production more than halved. Incidentally Tag moved up to 4th on the list (70,000) and then Panerai (40,000) - and that makes you think, and the rest of the top 10 (in order) Chopard, Mido, Ball, Titoni, Tissot. |

![]() Those numbers are really low. Breitling got hit disproportionately by the looks of it. It's been a tough year for a lot of people. Maybe this explains their move to a cheaper watch like the SOII? |

Wow, that must have hit industry hard! Honestly didn't know Rolex had such a large chunk of market share ![]() So by continually hitting us with price increases, they must be going after more profit per unit than trying to up volume sold ![]() |

I'm not in the least bit surprised Breitling sales have collapsed. Price increases of 50-80% and lack of product development over the last 5 years, coupled with the state of the world economy, is I suspect, pushing buyers to the used market. |

Fair point about the price increases Sharky (and probably the product development point too). Still, 55% is awfully big drop. ![]() MartC wrote: Honestly didn't know Rolex had such a large chunk of market share ![]() ![]() |

Interesting. This would suggest Rolex is as big as the rest of the top ten combined; bigger, actually. |

I have 4 of those on the list ![]() Maybe Breitling should listen to us! ![]() Also, with the Rolex numbers you would think that they would go down in value for second hand sales ![]() |

Speaking as a new Ling customer, I was really put off by the price increases (w/o a new product or increase in the feature set) And I did buy in the used market as a result. |

Don't forget that this isn't production numbers for most brands. It's production numbers for Breitling because they submit everything to COSC. Rolex sends most if not all, so it's also a fair number for them, but for everyone else only some of the models are submitted to COSC so the actual manufacturing numbers are far higher. |
