I have to say.... I just called Tourneau in NYC in regards to the 50-70% off sale because I was interested in purchasing a Navi World as a impulse buy this afternoon. First off, the place that is having the sale IS NOT Tourneau! Its some other shop that I representing Tourneau and they are not an authorized dealer  .

I then asked if I can purchase over the telephone and she says, "no". She tells me to take the train in from Philadelphia lol. I was a little baffled by this and wondering why but, what ever.

Then I finally asked the dam lady who answered the phone if they even have a Navi World and she says, "I'm not too familiar with the brand so I'm really not sure." I said, "ok well I am not going to drive to philly then take a train to come see a watch that isn't even there ya know?"
She responds, "WELL THATS THE RISK/GAMBLE YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE!"

F - HER! What a *itch!

I hope she gets ran the hell over by a bus when she walks home! Dam, for someone who is about to instantly drop 3 1/2g's like that, you think she would at least help me out somewhat by telling me if she even has the watch available!

I literally told her to F Off and hung up the phone rather upset.

You have to talk to the manager/owner about the attitude of that person.
As you said, she's a b--ch!

Not even worth it my friend. Horrible first impression! I personally would rather spend the extra thousand and deal with nice people(Govberg's in Philly)! :lingsrock:

:strummin: = Govbergs

That's ridic. I would have dropped a deposit until you get there... Then if they pull anything strange, then have a good lunch and go home. Sounds a bad store. The tourneau nearby me has been very nice and politely.

1) You are not going to get a Navi World at that discount. Period. Unless it "fell off a truck" somewhere...

2) The woman you spoke with on the phone was likely not a Tourneau employee. It's a sample sale run by a company that does nothing but sample sales. That company uses mostly temporary (read: low-paid) staff - she probably thinks Basel is what you sprinkle on your roast chicken.

Yeah, I'd just relax about it. Not really worth getting that worked up over. If you're digging through the discount bin (which I don't blame you for doing), I wouldn't expect top notch service.

Would you, for example, expect a Wal-Mart employee to have answers to questions about a specific brand of television? I would not, I'd go to a specialty store for that level of service.

Let it roll off your back!

You hope she gets run over by a bus??

Maybe put the $3k toward an anger management class.

I usually will stop into Tourneau every once in awhile to see a big collection of watches in one place - I just got back from NY and saw the SuperOcean II (in Red - didn't like it) - but their customer service absolutely stinks and I always want to wash my hands after I leave.

It's a good place to visit to check out a large selection of watches, but I would never buy a watch there.

One thing I did find amusing though - they had a PAM 328 in the store, but the Panerai Boutique a block away didn't have any...go figure.

Or pay a disillusioned bus driver

Seriously though, that would wind me up beyond reason as well!

I agree 100% with OP, mrcheatle , but the a step back. She was clearly unprofessional as I think you called her, cough, cough, but she probably did not give it or you a thought after she got off the phone, so why should you?
Drop in next time you are there and if they have your Navi at a discount walk out the door with a smile on your face!!! :cheer:

That's pretty ridiculous. I agree: *Screw* her. Don't imagine she's too successful if paid on commission.

Nice to see some helpful psychological help. When I tell story on a forum about how someone was a jackass, I like being told I need anger management.

Uh oh, I just mentioned something that annoys me. Now I probably need anger management for that. :(

This reminds me of something I once read - a resentment is like swalllowing poison yourself to get the other guy.

I think you had the wrong idea of this sale. Its a trunk sale type operation. All surplus inventory, everything, is thrown into a large space, heavily discounted, and deal are struck. This was not a promotion whereby Tourneau (or the host of the sale) was offering discounts on stocked watches of 50-70%. From what I have read, a lot of the watches sold will be sold without boxes/some of the papers due to the simple fact that they get taken, destroyed, etc... Again, its a trunk sale, not a sale out of current inventory.

The brochure posted made most of this clear.
