Hi all,

Just found this forum looking for information on my Breitling and, as you can see, this is my first post here so please bear with me.

I have recently been given a Breitling Windrider Chronomat, model number A13352 as a gift from my father in law :D. It has a mother of pearl face and diamond bezel, identical to the watch seen here..

http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/jewellery/1522935

I am trying to get it insured, however I need to find out how much the watch is worth. I was told that it was bought in America for around $10,000, which would kind of tally with the advert above, priced at €5000, which states - "This stunning example is a give-away at less than half price".

However, I have called Breitling UK to find out what they retail for and was told that they stopped making them in 2004 and the last price they have is £5,430.

I am confused as obviously these prices do not correlate, so what I am trying to find out is, roughly how much is this watch worth now?

Thanks

It depends a lot on the bezel. If it is a factory diamond bezel with all of the Breitling paperwork then it is worth a lot more than an aftermarket bezel where the price will be dictated by the quality of diamonds used.

A regular chronomat is going to be worth $3,000 - $3,500 give or take, but that will also be affected by the condition, service history, bracelet or strap, etc. A MOP dial will add $150 or so to that, nothing substantial.

Even with factory diamonds this isn't a $10,000 watch.

Thanks for the reply, roughly how much are we talking then? I'm intrigued as I've seen the newer model, the Chronomat Evolution, going for a lot more e.g. this one, which has an RRP of £10,760..

Thanks again

The price Breitling gave you is about correct. The equivalent watch today would be the Chrono Galactic. :ie 20mm lugs/39mm case.
The Diamond Bezel/SS/18K version is priced at £7,930 on a Lizard Strap.Knock off £160 for the Strap and add £940.00 for a SS Pilot Bracelet =£8,710 minus a few hundred for the 18K. Around £8000 for the latest version. Second hand with all papers you would get around 30-40 %. I would guess about £2,400-£3,200..
I wish my Father-in-Law would give me a present.....

That seems about right.

List price is completely irrelevant as this watch is at least 6 years old.
