I've had a Breitling Chronomat since 1992. A great watch. It's needed repair twice, though (around 1994 and 2004). It's due for a 3rd repair. Send it to Breitling?
Will they just replace the insides and not fix it?
The second repair was that the watch ran slow, maybe 5 minutes per day.
Now the problems are:
1. date does not change until 5 a.m., possibly because I didn't know not to adjust the date between 8 pm and 3 am. 2. The stop watch is hard to start, not starting all the time. 3. The outside dial is very stiff. 4. The watch stops often. I do not know whether it is because I don't exercise like before or because it's a watch problem. I tried a watch winder at night, but this doesn't help completely. 5. The stopwatch minute hand doesn't seem to move.
That's a lot of problems!
On the bright side, I no longer see exact replacement of my Chronomat. It has a brushed finished, steel with gold accents on the outside dial and buttons. The bracelet is steel "bullets" with 2 thin areas of gold for each link.
