The bezel of my B2 is a little worn with parts of the black enamel worn away, and some of it still intact. In all honesty, it looks like crap IMO. I did a search and tried to find out if there is a way to remove enamel from a bezel. Has anyone ever removed their bezel enamel due to wear? What tools / methods would you recommend to remove the enamel from a bezel? Can this be done at all, or does this run major risk of damaging the watch?? I am sure I am not the only person in this boat of wanting to remove enamel on a bezel. :mrgreen:

Do you mean the numbers on the bezel? Are they not black inside the hash marks?

I would imagine you will have to take the bezel off and apply some sort of chemical solution on it in order to have the paint dissolved.

Taking bezel apart on B1/2 is more complicated that on other models. B1/2 have complicated gear system, which is connected to the inner ring. I would leave this process to professionals.

Easier approach would be to restore the paint on your bezel...have you considered this approach instead?

I have not. The bezel on the B2 contains 360 degrees for calculating direction when in flight (i think). Anyway, some of the numbering is worn out and i would rather just remove the enamel/paint, as opposed to restoring it. I was hoping there would be some sort of tedious technique of rubbing out the enamel/paint in the bezel?? Hypothetically if one were to try and restore the black numbers on the bezel - how much would this cost? Would this have to be done through BUSA? Thanks in advance! Roenick

This is not recommended, but I spent a week in the Amazon rainforest once, applying 100% DEET several times a day, and yep, all the enamel came off my watch (not a Breitling - it was a G-Shock).

I'd say the same. If the enamel is oil-based any organic solvent (paint thinner, nail polish remover, etc...) and a q-tip with some elbow grease will usually do the trick.
