How difficult are these, display back or not, to come across second hand? I came across one, and wasnt planning any more purchases this year, but....

There are around 3,000 of the DBs out there so you see them come up fairly regularly. The non DBs weren't a limited production so more of those available.

That's up to you, but if you jump on everyone then you are going to have a fairly large collection

HAHAHAH. I can see the pattern forming already.

I want a vintage/ or similar vintage feel type watch for the rotation, so as a third option I am in no hurry to spend the dough.

I have been thinking a vintage piece would be nice too. Its like an old car though. Beautiful but expensive keep up. I have been eyeing a few.

Thats why I have a Pepsi Dial GMT II. Old car look, new car up keep! Honestly, I would happily trade a number of the pieces in my collection for a DB Cosmo.

That's sort of where I am going with a Lemania Cosmo. I am all for vintage looks but I prefer newer components. Its not like they make throwback jerseys in the same burlap type wool they did 50 years ago.

The manual wind aspect, and the history of the watch are enough to pass as vintage in my book.

I am kind of the same way, however, having a watch that is 50 years old would be awesome.

:yeahthat Well stated. I've been debating between something like the Lemania Cosmo, or even just a Chrono-matic (44). The hard part is finding one that is well cared for, priced right AND the right color......all the whilst having an open budget for a new watch! haha

I've jumped on the vintage band wagon, I bought a birth year 1969 big case Navitimer Chrono-matic and will soon have a 1968 big case manual wind Cosmonaute. I love the 24hr dials but the regular Cosmonaute was just a little too small for me.
