Post subject: | Chrono Superocean Caseback: what's the THIRD number ? ? ? |
Hallo my friends, I'm making a data-base of my complete Breitling-collection. I discovered something "strange" on the caseback of my Chrono Superocean. Normally there are 2 lines of numbers on a Breitling caseback: 1) The reference number 2) The serial number ( masked on my photo ) But what is the meaning of the third line of numbers here ? ( V63619 ) ![]() ![]() |

I've never seen that before, and it doesn't look like a factory finished number - I'm guessing that the finish looks different from the serial number??? |

I don't know about the numbers but that is a great looking watch. I didn't think I'd like that dial combo but that is beautiful. |

I do know of dealers ( predominantly non uk ) that mark their own stock, infact its pretty common. It was also common for good watchmakers to mark a watch , usually VERY small when work has been done, ie.. a service mark. Although in this case the watch was new from an AD., all i can think of is a stock mark so the watch can be tracked if need be. cheers swiss1 |

It does almost look like a stock type number from a store / distributor. @OP, which country are you in? |

This watch was brandnew. Thx, guys, as swiss says: I know if watchmakers service a watch, they ALWAYS "mark" it, but as far as I know, the do this with very very tiny fonts into the INNER side of the caseback. My watchmake does it too. And if you buy a 2nd hand watch, you can always see if it's serviced or not. ( or at least that "someting" has been repared.... ) I am from Belgium. I will ask my AD. |

Is this a trusted AD? The reason I ask is because it has a Pro1 Bracelet on it..I have heard of grey market dealers marking their watches. |

Yes, hes a trusted and well-known AD !!! He's also on the Breitlings' website. The price was "good" becaus it was on a ProI ( I like the ProI much more than the ProII ) But it was off couse end-of-stock. Maybe that's the reason for that number ? Anyway, next time that i'm in the shop, I will ask him ! ![]() It is a real Breitling, no doubt; it's running very very good on the Witchi ! ![]() ( A "flatliner" --- but in terms of amplitude and beat error , this is very good ! ![]() |

There is no such thing as a decent SOC fake. That dial combo is my fav. Enjoy it!!!!! |
