I just recently purchased my first Breitling (Chrono Evo) from an AD. I noticed that many of you seem to be paying less then retail at the AD. When I went to buy my watch the sales person would not budge on the price instead offering financing options. What is everyone's strategy for bringing down the AD price from retail? |

Find another AD. Seriously, the vast majority will discount maybe 15% if you just ask. If you want more than that you let them know and see what they say. Sounds like you just got unlucky and found one of the few dealers that dont discount. |

I had the same thing happen to me at the only AD within 100 miles. Ended up going pre-owned and save a bundle on my first two (Thanks again RJRJRJ) Dont know if that really answers your question but I digress |

The AD I was at was the Torneau in Roosevelt Field Mall...Garden City New York....Anyone from New York have any suggestions for a good AD? |

I agree with those here. Find an AD outside your state and just give them a call. Ask for a reasonable discount, save on taxes, and have it on your wrist in a matter of days if in stock. |

send jnelson a pm for George's contact info. Tourneau is known for having their customers but at sticker prices. I think they sell so many pieces chain-wide that they dont need to discount. |

I think that Torneau is pretty famous for NOT discounting. Good stores, locations and service but they have to pay for those prime locations somehow. |

No sales tax on the out of state transactions. When Sears (based in Illinois) bought them they started charging sales tax. Anyone help me with this?? |

Sears is based out of IL, bu thy have store in many states. If youve got a Sears in your state, you pay sales tax whether its an online purchase or in store. An interesting idea: The electronics store "The Good Guys" (no longer around) had a website that sold the same stuff as the B&M stores. When they set up the site, they created a new company that wasnt legally affiliated with the nationwide stores, even though it carried the same name, logo etc. Every company has to be based out of somewhere (dont remember where they were), but since they were a different company, there was no sales tax unless you were in that particular state. |

I'm going to take everyone's advice and try to contact George from Govberg tomorrow...However just to let everyone know I tried calling the Torneau in Columbus Circle in Manhattan and even over the phone the sales person said that she would take 10% off....So maybe it could just be the Torneau in Garden City |
