hey everyone

first off, yeah it's genuine because it's from the Duty Free store in Bangkok where you need to register your passport and flights in order to get it.

the tricky thing is that we are flying from bangkok to phuket but in order to get duty free we need to fly from bangkok to overseas since phuket is considered a domestic flight. so that's why i put up the post to see if it's a good deal. thanks to your help now we are busy trying to find a return flight from bangkok to KL and return on the same day so that we can purchase the watch, get back to bangkok in time to catch our original flight to phuket.

probably more detail than people care to know about but i'm excited now!! planning to go back tomorrow to purchase it. we tried bargaining for an even more discount and even speaking to the manager but they wouldn't budge on the 7000AUD price!!

Not sure on your situation but surely just having the ticket allows you to purchase duty free, regardless if you make the flight or not, should you happen to miss it ;-)

yeah well we spent like an hour trying to work a way out and the guy said they have to drop the watch off at the bangkok airport at the international departures area and because we're flying from bangkok to phuket we will be departing from the domestic area so we can't physically enter the the international area unless we purchase an international ticket say from bangkok to malaysia or some other country.

we're still tossing up whether it's worth so much hassle since the airfares will probably negate the discounted price of the watch anyway!

Im in Bangkok at the moment for work and then flying to Phucket tomorrow for a vacation with my GF and then coming back to Bangkok on the 3rd August for 3 nights stay in Bangkok.

My mission is to get a watch when I return to Bangkok. May I ask you for some store recommendations of where to go? BTW there is a watch EXPO at the Siam Paragon if you not yet checked it out. Well worth a look :yeahthat

It would really help me out

I hope that you get your tax sorted. I think its 7% so well worth it for that price.

Honestly this sounds like a big pain in the ass. I feel like something could not go so smooth and could end up costing you more than you save. Just my 2 cents.

the place i went to is the duty free store called king power complex duty free where you can get the breitling really cheap but only the b4bGMT model, the rest they offer 20% off

i went to siam paragon and yeah it was a nice expo but nothing too special

good luck!
