Post subject:  Can Two Straps Share One Deployant Buckle?

How practical is it (or is it even possible) to change the deployant buckle from strap to strap. I would like to get both a black and brown strap for my Skyland and I just want to know if I need two deployant buckles or one.

Thank, as always.

Hi, You should only need one deployant providing you have the correct tool for fitting and removing straps. About the best is "Bergeon" which is available via Ebay. Cost me £10, I suppose that would be roughly $20.....I change straps every so often with no problems. Just waiting for a new "Black Liizard Strap for my Cockpit.

Regards

PS The pointed piece I use for the Clasp end is Ref No 6767F and the V shape for the watch end is Ref No 6767S

:yeahthat Changing the deployant is no harder than changing the strap itself.... although personally I'd be tempted to buy a second deployant just for convenience sake.

In the US anyone have a ballpark as to what a replacement (or space) deployant might cost (steel) or what an off-market version might cost?

If off-market, any good sources anyone can recommend?

authentic watches has them for 245.00. http://www.authenticwatches.com/breitli ... uckle.html

you can look for them on ebay, i recently seen one go for about 150.00. it wasnt brand new but thats still a decent price.

if you buy one thats aftermarket itll be much cheaper but for me id rather spend a little extra for the authenticity. in my opinion a beautiful watch deserves authenticity.

Yeah.. I like to have a deployant for every strap.. unless you are buying aftermarket straps. There are some good ones. There is added wear when you remove and replace the deployant strap as well.. which I find if you do it too many times the "retention" of the side that has the friction hold on the strap isn't as good and I find my straps loosen slightly over the course of a day. Best bet is to get a deployant for each strap.

I got a price list along with the Chronolog my AD gave me yesterday. The folding steel clasp is listed at $200.00 from Breitling. The prices in the US and Canada are now the same.
Cheers,
Carl
