Lets include TheWatchery.com
I know they are not an Authorised Dealers ( AD ) but they claim to have a better warranty and lower cost and faster service down the road.
Plus the humongo upfront discounts are tempting.
And lets face it, THAT is what I am buying right now.

As Txturbo says, there's qute a few threads on here about grey-market dealers so I won't go into the ins and outs of them, but if they are claiming to offer a better warranty than the manufacture then that is completely and utterly false IMO.

That's like saying that "Joe's Used Cars Sales" warranty is better than BMW's manufacter's warranty, even though Joe may actually be employing a spotty 16 year old work-experience kid as his "mechanic", and definitely won't have access to genuine BMW parts.

What I'm saying is that there is no way on earth that any grey market dealer can offer a warranty even approaching what Breitling can. It's just not possible. My advice would be that if you go the grey-market route, just assume you don't have a warranty at all. If you have a problem with the watch, forget about using the grey-market dealer's ALLEGED warranty, and just bite the bullet and send it to Breitling. Yes, you'll have to pay for it but at least you know it's fixed correctly using genuine parts. The money you save on the purchase should be used to offset the cost of repair.

:yeahthat

And unless it's one of the rare 50 - 60% off specials, the grey market prices are only a small percentage better than a tame AD, in some cases worse.

I think when these gray dealers say "better warranty" they mean longer warranty, i.e. 3 years instead of Breitling's 2 years.

What kind of service you will get is different question, I doubt you will get anything better than B's service.

 STAY AWAY, Especially "Thewatchery.com" !!!!!!! I don't really feel like typing out my story again. Search thewatchery.com and find my threads!

Bottom line, don't do it! You say the service is faster huh......9 months was my turn-a-round time! I would imagine Breitling would be a little faster than that

Plus, when you do service it with thewatchery.com I caught them red-handed lying to me about who was actually fixing my watch. The watch was practically lost in the US/Switzerland. They said they sent it back to B/switz and I ended up finding it at a mom and pop shop somewhere randomly in the US.

And to be honest... buying from an AD might have costed me about $300 more after negotiating.

I'm quite sure that's what keeps the ad strictly "legal." Wonder why they just don't say "longer" if that's what they think is important. Hmmmm...
