Me, im mostly a bracelet guy, like rubber for certain watches, mostly dive watches, but will wear leather straps depending on the leather.

Mostly i like the vingtage looking leather, in brown or rust colors, like what we see from alot of the custom strap makers, a thick , soft , brown leather with some character to it. IM not much for crocodile or alligator, i used to be, but dont really wear watches like that anymore.

so do you wear leather straps, and if so, whats your favorite?

I like leather straps. Rubber is more practical in about every possible way, but leather straps are much more interesting.

The brown strap on my Superocean's been through so much it's almost black:

I'm a big fan of straps. All but two of my watches are on straps.

I jut got a 6767f that I'm going to use to start experimenting with different straps on my Cockpit. Currently have a black calf.

I love leather straps, but since I made the move across the pond to Florida, the heat out here has had me sweating so much I can't wear the leather anymore. They're just not lasting long enough :( I don't suppose anyone has any tips for improving the life of the straps, its the inside of the strap thats the problem.

sure, especially croco leather but to a lesser extent calf. I insist each watch must have more than one look.

The best is to get more straps so you can rotate wear them. I also found a thin coat of mink oil (it's actually a paste) every month or so works well to protect the inside of the strap from sweat. Just be aware it will darken light colored straps.

Yep. I've told this story here, but I'll tell it again: I wear that watch for work, so it gets quite dirty. I wore it until the strap was about the color in the picture. The I got this Army swimming certification, which involved spending a bunch of time in an overly-chlorinated pool, which bleached it back approximately to its original color. Since then, it's been exposed to enough dirt and sweat to look as it does for that picture.

I think that's a perfectly apt description. :D I'm taking a new series of photos with a military theme.

I'm a big fan of straps too, especially OEM (and quality custom straps like ABP fabricate), but the cost is always a bug-bear of mine. If I had a choice between croco and calf, I'd go croco because I think it really helps to "dress up" a watch, but as I consider straps to be consumables, the RRP of a croco means that I don't wear straps as often as I otherwise might. Only one of my watches (my 6.75) is on a strap as a result.

I must say that the UTC strap that ABP made for me was very good value IMO @ €210

I don't like croc straps, because I'm picky and want to match my leathers. I don't have any croc shoes or belts. :?
