Hi all,

I am considering buying the diver rubber strap for my new breitling chrono colt II, it is already on a PRO II, its starting to gather a few very light scratches so I want to swap it for a rubber or leather one soon...

Which would any of you guys suggest is best quality.... ?? Rubber or Leather ??

The Diver Pro II and Ocean Racer rubber straps on deployment are fantastic. But Breitling leather straps are very high quality for leather. Either way ya can't go wrong. Get both - the deployment is a bit costly, but the leather on tang buckle can be had at an AD for about $125.

Or I'm an idiot and I don't know what I'm talking about. Is it on the Pro II bracelet or the Diver Pro II strap?

As far as rubber vs leather, I think a rubber strap will last longer.

I like the Diver Pro II on deployment over the Ocean Racer.

Should you get rubber vs leather? Depends on what situations you wear the watch most frequently? Do you wear it dressed up for work or do you wear it as a casual watch?

I think im going to get it on rubber.....

I'm in a suit dailey which i know a leather would go better with, but i have gave it some thought and think im going to go with rubber...

Its a much more cheaper strap and hopefully will look like new for a long time were as PRO II braclet and Leather tend to "age"

I just picked up an Ocean Racer rubber strap with deployment and a dark brown calf leather strap on deployment at the same time.

They are both great straps!!! I wear casual clothes 95% of the time as Im a footwear designer for a sports brand and I have not taken the rubber strap off!!! Its on my B2 by the way.... it gives the watch a more sporty look and feel which fits me and my lifestyle.

However..... The one thing I do notice about the rubber is that its quite chunky and is a bit annoying when wearing long sleeve tops/shirts as the rubber grips the fabric.

On the plus side though you really don't have to worry when ever you wash/swim/shower leaning on a bar or something like that as its rubber it will look as good in 5 years as the first day you put it on.

The calf leather is really nice though and one I would definitely wear if I was to wear a suit daily..... I thought it was going to be super hard leather but actually the top and bottom calf leather surfaces are so soft and the quality is beautiful. You do need to be more cautious with them though depending on the colour. Especially with a really light colour tan or something like that.

I would advise to pick up one to start with and see how you go and then perhaps pick up another later on. No point getting them at the same time. I have one just sitting in the box....... It does give that new watch feeling which is great for an affordable price.

Personally i prefer the OR rubber than the pro diver II. Gives it a more interesting look IMHO.

You have a good job too by the sounds of things like i said im in a suit dailey so leather or croco would make more sense, but i think i want something different, i've got leather on my bentley GT so fancey a change
