What color is more "classic" Breitling? Someone suggested that the blue face was a more "classic" Breitling? Any truth to that statement?

I personally love the White-face Navi World. Can't imagine you could go wrong with any of your choices however.

i have to go white face too. i know its a hard choice. but look at it like this...white face gives you a ton of options when it comes to straps. you cand do any color straps with white, but black limits your options. also ask yourself this..do you prefer a bigger looking dial or a smaller looking dial (this is all preference) but if you like that bigger looking dial then white is the way to go. ultimately its your call. but my vote is for the white :lingsrock:

I've owned the blue dial Navi World in the past and I currently have the white/silver dial version...... and the white dial wins hands down IMO.

Personally I think that Navis look best with white subdials for some reason, which means that the blue and black Worlds end up with too much of an expanse of dial colour for me. The white/silver dial just looks more classic IMO.

Gentlemen,
I appreciate the input. I saw the "white"/silver/pearl faced watch and, although it was a nice dial, I was really looking forward to a WHITE dial.

That, and I found a helluva' good deal on a black face with a leather strap.

Thanks again for the input!

Ok for me it would be white. I mean all my watches have white faces. That being said as far as classic goes I would have to say black. When I think of Breitling I think of the black Navi on the billboard with Travolta, it just scream Breitling to me. That and a two tone Chronomat with navy blue dial. Those two watches are iconic in my mind when it comes to Breitling.

I know that ad with Travolta on it doesnt have a Navi world but instead a regular navi. Still though, even though I like the white myself classic choice is black.

Sorry for rambling.

To me, "classic" and "vintage" are synonymous. As the original 806 Navitimer had a black dial, I would argue the black dial Navi World is more "classic" for the Navitimer line. As far as most visually pleasing, I do lean slightly towards the white dial Navi World, although it looks gigantic on my wrist. The black dial wears much smaller.

I totally agree that the black dial wears smaller because of the contrast between the black dial and white edge. My white world looks much bigger than my black one...but its just an illusion.

This is what I was thinking. If you want the true classic color - it's black.
