Post subject:  New Seawolf - Date change??

G'Day Crew,

Received my new yellow dial seawolf today from Andrew Michael Jewellers. What a beast. Pictures on the net do not do it justice. When you guys mentioned it was a big watch you were not kidding, this thing is a tank, built like a boeing!

I think that I am going to have to rotate wearing it on each arm, otherwise my left arm is going to be longer than my right.

A quick question if I may. After reading the manual, it states NOT to change the time or date between 8pm and 3am otherwise damage to the movement may occur. Now the date was the 29th today, so I set the time this morning! I noticed that it changed to the 30th today at some time................

I assume that it means the time is out by 12 hours. Does that mean I can change the date BACK tonight????

Photo's will follow soon.

Thanks again.

Rob

Hi Rob,

If you quick change the date between those hours you risk damaging the watch. I suggest you move it forwards after 15:00 rather than back.

Never use the quick set date or wind time backwards between 8pm and 3am.

As Alan M said, wait until after 3pm but before 8pm and move time back 12 hours and you will be all set. Alternatively, wind time forward 12 hours at any time so that the watch changes at midnight but is now a full day ahead. As June only has 30 days it will magically be correct again on Thursday

Alan is right. Just advance the hour hand to a time that is outside of the "danger window" and then advance the date with the quickset.

What I would do if I was you (and it IS what I do incidentally! ) is advance the hour hand to a time outside of the danger zone (say 5 o'clock), then use the Quickset date to advance the date to the daye before the date you actually want. I then stop using the Quickset and advance hour hands through 24 hours (if ncessary) to get the correct date and time. It may take a little longer, but it avoids any potentially damaging Quickset use and also ensures that you are always moving the movement forwards and not attempting to go backwards at any point.

It sounds like youve just got the AM/PM mixed up. I do what D8 does, and set the date to the day before, and then advance the hands forward to change the date to the correct (day after) date. That way you make sure you get the AM/PM correct.
