Post subject:  Replacement Dial for Breitling Crosswind?

Hi folks

Does any body know the best way to source a replacement dial for a Crosswind?

I've got a beautiful TT Crosswind, but I want the sub dials to be a bit more prominent - at the moment they're blue against blue, and ideally I'd like a blue dial with either silver or gold subdials.

Many thanks

Andy

The best bet would always be to try Breitling direct. If they have one they will fit it for you and probably service the watch at the same time. Yes it will cost a bit, but it's the best way to go about it.

If Breitling don't have a replacement dial, you will be looking at eBay for a replacement dial. They do crop up now and then, so you might just have to keep your eyes peeled.

And accept that the watch could never go back to Breitling for service. If you send a watch to Breitling that is different to their records then they will change it back at your expense.

Realistically it's either through Breitling or the better (and likely cheaper) option might be to sell your current watch and buy a different one with the dials that you like.

Can't believe : If the watch to their records is not original they will change out the dial again....?

I've seen similar stories about RUSA but BUSA is also doing this.

Ín Europe they can't refuse service because of original though undocumented/registered parts.
Something like having you Benz equipped with new alloy and P-zero's and then warranty void and service rejected untill everything is brought back to original

No way :nana:

Hardly think that the car analogy is fair - for a start you don't need to take the whole car apart to put new wheels on it, you do need to remove the movement from the watch to change the dial. You also have to reuse parts that are only designed to be used once (the hands).

Breitling rarely refuse to service watches unless there are a huge number of aftermarket parts, but they do not provide Breitling parts to non authorised watchmakers (again unlike cars where OEM or OEM spec parts can be bought from many sources). They will therefore consider the dial as 'non authorised' if it wasn't supplied by Breitling.
