Post subject:  Having watch serviced

I bought a Colt GMT back in Oct. 2005 and fell in love with it right away. The watch has performed flawlessly since then and looks beautiful. Just this last week I bought my second Breitling, a Superocean Steelfish. As I was speaking to the salesperson he said my Colt will need servicing soon, just for maintenance and oiling.

Is this somethng I should look into having done? To be honest I never thought I would have to have the watch serviced. Also, I live in Ohio - where would I need to take the watch to in order to have it serviced?

I just found this forum last week and am looking forward to reading many of the discussions.

Thanks for any suggestions!!!

The watch will need servicing when it can no longer keep time within COSC specs (-4 / +6 seconds per day) or when the power reserve is significantly reduced. That will be 5 - 7 years after new so it's getting to that point, but don't worry about it until the watch shows symptoms - it will tell you when it needs the TLC.

You can send it directly to BUSA in CT.
