Hey guys... I'm looking for some opinions. I have an AS black dial and I'm thinking of moving it along. It has been one of my favorites, but I've always had my eye on a brushed Blackbird. So I was wondering if any of you who own or have owned both had any impressions of each. Thanks guys! |

I actually traded my Skyland for a Blackbird and I've never looked back. The Blackbird has a very unique bracelet with it's angled facets, it's dial is much cleaner looking, and the big date feature at 12 o'clock is a really cool look. For me...the Blackbird is the clear winner. |

I have owned them both, and would take the BB over the AS. I sold my BB to buy a Rolex GMT ceramic, and sold my AS to by a chronomat. But I want a BB once again. The brushed finish is amazing the the bracelet is superb. Great readability on both. I already have a Chrono Avenger and a SA Blacksteel so that is why I parted with the AS. Don |

Having owned both it's not even close - the BB wins hands down. Except for me. The shape of the Chronomat case and caseback make it an awkward fit on my wrist. But this is HIGHLY unusal. Were it not for my own peculiar anatomy, I'd still have both the BBs I sold. |

Sharkman, What is it about the case back and your wrist if I might ask? I do have a somewhat bony wrist and my ulnar styloid is pretty prominant. Some watches are not as comfortable....I noticed that an Omega POC I tried on once was not comfortable due to the convexity of the caseback. |

I had a PO a few years ago and it wasn't comfortable on my wrist. I miss that watch so much but it just didn't sit properly on my wrist so I had to part with it. The blackbird fits absolutely perfect...and i have small wrists. The BB has a thinner and lighter case than the PO so it sits a lot nicer on my wrist. Luckily for me skarkman is a freak of nature!! |

>>>>ulnar styloid<<<< And all this time I've been calling it "that boney thing." Perfect! Yeah me too, but that's only a part of it. The Chronomat case has a smaller flat area on the caseback and the casebcak is thicker. So it rides a bit high on the wrist. And since there isn't much meat on my 6&1/2" hyper-ulnar styloid ( ![]() Today I've had Skyracer on all day - flat caseback and larger overall than the Chronomat - and haven't even noticed it. Were I wearing a chronomat today I'd be fidgiting with it all day. |

Try an SA? Sure. It looked ridiculous and broke my ulnar styloid. Well the Yankees are sending a lefty to the plate and I'm 2 rows behind 3rd base dugout. Time to bloody well pay attention. |

I've never owned either, but I've tried on both and to echo the others the BB would win hands down for me too. It's just a higher finished watch, with a more unique look, and a more interesting movement IMO. BUT ultimately only you can decide which one you prefer. People's opinions are all well and good, but at the end of the day buy for you and you alone. |

I don't own an SA but I do have a BB brushed. They are hard to compare, for me they are completely different watches. The BB is definately a "nicer" watch and "dressier" IMHO. I obviously chose the BB. R/ |

I have to go Blackbird too. I thought really really hard about the one that Sharkman had for sale. Quite the premium over the what AS's are going for though.... I'm shopping for my 2nd Breitling now, and these are my top two.... |
