just left tourneau and the sales associate couldnt have been more rude. i walked in, walked over to the breitling case, stood there for a minute and had to call him over, he didnt ask me if i wanted to try anything on even after i told him what i was looking to buy. the first thing he asked me was, are you buying today. i told him i had a navi world i was looking to trade in and that i didnt have it on me. his reply was o well i dont trade in my breitlings i jsut buy new ones. what a way to put someone down. maybe he forgot he works at tourneau and gets a big discount. i asked him about how much i could get for it and he said probably 1800, what a joke. its not even 2 years old. he absolutely did not want to be bothered and could care less if he made a sale. ill deff be calling tourneau to complain for the lack of customer service because i have never had a problem with any other ad before. |

Sounds like a real douchebag. I would light his ass up with the manager, that's for sure. Good luck! ~Brian |

I am sorry about that…Did you know that the employees at Tourneau get at least one watch a year at 50% off per year. Trust me if it was not for that he would be trading them in also. I always find it amazing how many watches the sales reps tell me they have and yet they are always wearing the same one. |

i totally agree. if they had that many watches theyd be working somewhere else making more money to support their watch habit. even if they do get 50% off 1 a year 20 years only means 20 watches. |

dadicroce, That really surprises me because the division we have down here in Palm Beach is very helpful and attentive although their prices are not very good. That salesman was obviously a Democrat they are always looking for something for nothing, that's why he only offered $1800 for the Nav World. I would go over his head and speak to one of his superiors for sure. He's the kind of guy that believes that because he was born the world OWES him free health care. |

50% is not even close. I had an employee explain to me that they get a discounted price and then a certain dollar amount off for every Ling they sold through the year. She just got her new stainless white dial Star liner with diamond bezel and markers! Her out of pocket $...............$800 + tax! As for her, great sales person that deserves a great deal. I work on commission as well and get a year end kick if I do a good job so I like to hear that they do as well. I think that privilege should be revoked if your an ASSHOLE though!!!! |

I'm sorry, but I feel these are very inappropiate statements, and I don't see why this was relevant to this topic. I am a strong believer you should keep politics out of forums like this one. I'm sure there are enough places on the web where you can complain about this type of issues. Let's stick to watches here, shall we? |

dadicroce, If you don't mind dealing out of state I just happened to attend a great Cigar dinner Tuesday night sponsored by Davidoff and at my table was a man from a place called Jewels In Time. I have been to their place many times and they are OUR kind of guys. They have class, they EARN their money honesty and fairly and they are very good in both new, pre-owned and trade in situations. They have been around for a long time and they offer very fair prices for trade ins. You can call them, I put their link below. They may not have what you are looking for immediately but they deal in a worldwide network and can locate anything. The website does not represent what they have in stock on a regular basis so calling them is the way to go. If you decide to give it a try ask for Peter. http://www.jewelsintime.cc/ |

The big problem in retail with luxury items is, that salespeople often forget, what they are really selling. Sometimes You sell a piece, thats half Your yearly income. If that happens more frequently, You loose the relation. For an average salesman, a Chronomat Evolution is twice a moth salary. As You sell quite a lot of those, You don't really appreciate it anymore, and get a little bit anoyed, if someone needs more time to decide. My salesstaff usualy earns watches by promotions. Thats like sell 20 Breitlings in 3 month, get one free in average value. So that are more or less "free" watches. So the watch itself looses appreciation. But when You have to work for buying a watch, save Your hard earned money, You should be treated as a customer, and customers deserve the best treatment, doesn't matter, if they look for a Tissot, Breitling or Rolex. Ask a salesperson, who pays him. He will say, his boss. Right, but first the customer has to pay the store with his money. Often salesstaff of well established stores gets very unfriendly. If the manager does not see or hear that, that gives smaller younger enterprises a chance to grab a bigger share in the market. BG Thomas |

Well said Thomas. Well said indeed. (If there was an "applause" emoticon I'd be using it here!) |
