There's currently a thread about using Chronograph feature. Here's more specific question - how often do you use slider rule feature on your Breitling (or any other watch)? How many of us actually know HOW to use slider rule? |

Uhm...except the Chronomat doesn't have a slide rule bezel. Just a regular bezel with a tachymetre. |

Hi All! I have owned three Navitimers - currently own two & I have never used it. Dunno How! ![]() I tried with the first one but - gave up on it - largely because it is to stiff/hard to move the bezel & as a result I got pissed off & gave up on the notion - LMAO ![]() And that was over 13 years ago! ![]() Best Regards, Enezdez |

Use it sometimes for currency conversions on eBay, but really just as a gimmick - Bloomberg's just as easy ![]() I do of course make sure that the bezel is realigned afterwards ![]() |

I use it often on my Airwolf when I fly. It is great for getting ground speed checks, calculating fuel, etc, however it is getting harder to see as I get older! It is pretty to use once you read the manual and practice a few times. I also have used it when I use to travel to other countries for currency conversions. R/ |

When I was in high school in the mid sixties, that is all we had and used slide rules all the time. If you ever watched any documentaries on the US missions to the moon you will occaissionally see NASA engineers using them. Like anything else, you can get extremely accurate and fast with them, but that skill is largely lost today of course . I can see why the Navitimer was popular with pilots back in that day as they grew up with sliderules in school. With a good pair of reading glasses you can achieve both accuracy and speed with practice. The Navitimers today seem to have very tight bezels , I think because of the water resistance they are trying to achieve. I don't think the older models had that - maybe some can comment on that here. The B2 and Skyracer have geared bezels and are very easy to use if you can see the lines. Pretty much useless feature but does carry a sense of nostalgia with old guys like me. |

I don't think I've ever used the slide rule on any of my watches. |

use it sometimes to calculate total speed when traveling home from work to see which route is faster during which day and time also when i don't have my phone or a pen i use it for calculating some numbers..but it is very hard to rotate |

Only to show people that the Airwolf has a geared bezel slide rule. As for the maths, well can't be bothered reading the manual for the 4th time |
