Hey everyone.

I know that most watches are waterproof and can sustain a diving trip or two, or in my case, some splashing around the waterfront.

However, how well does it handle saltwater - and do you have any procedures after dipping in saltwater? I know the watch handles it, but I mean over time... should precautions be made?

Thanks!

I always rinse my watches well with fresh water after I've been in salt water with them. Keep them clean and they'll be fine.

Yeah, as Otto says rinsing in fresh water as soon as possible is all the precaution that you need.

If the watch is exposed to saltwater frequently then you should have the seals inspected and potentially replaced wvery 12 months, but we are talking prolonged and / or daily exposure.

Also, use fairly warm water, salt and oils wash-off better in warm water.
