I just purchased a SuperOcean Steelfish with an Ocean Racer Strap band. The band is way too big for my wrist, and I cannot seem to figure out how to take it off/shorten it. Any suggestions??

You can purchase a deployment buckle. You can do this with either an official breitling deployment or an aftermarket part, either will work just fine. With a deployment you can make the strap as small as you like! The deployment buckle will work just fine with the strap you currently have, even though it is not a deployment strap. Just attach the deployment buckle to the end that currently has the tang buckle on it, and then slide the pointed end of the strap through the buckle. It should work just fine. Good Luck!

I have my Skyland on an Ocean Racer, and had the same question you have. It's kind of a pain as the springbars on both sides are "hidden", they are not drilled through as on other clasps or deployants.

On the clasp side, slide the adjuster all the way out and hold it there. You will then have to go from the end, the good thing is that the rubber strap is pretty soft so you can squeeze it down while working a springbar tool in to get to the springbar. If you don't have a forked tool, like a Bergeron, now's the time to get one. The other side is almost the same except that the strap is fixed in place and the springbar is pretty far back. You just have to squeeze the strap and carefully work your way in.

Once you get the strap off, cut less than you think you need, put everything back together and see how it feels. I recently got a new rubber strap for a Sinn U-Series watch and immediately cut it too short. So, use my lesson and go slowly, no sense in you having to learn it the hard way too.

Here's a quick pic for now, I took this picture when the strap was new, note the plastic protection is still on. On the clasp side (the other side is done in a similar manner), push the adjuster all the way out and work the tool where the arrow is. You will probably have to hold the adjuster with one hand and use the other to squeeze the strap and work the tool. Sounds harder than it actually is. Let me know how things work out, and post some pics of your watch when you're done.

Hi, I wished to purchase an ocean racer strap for my watch too but was told they only come in either 20mm or 24mm. How did you get one to fit your 22mm skyland?

I understand that the Ocean Racer strap is actually replacing the original Breitling diver strap, so they are now coming out in a variety of sizes including 22mm.

Great news. Now just gotta convince myself £205 is reasonable for a rubber strap lol. I really do want one though.

The best thing would of course be o go to your AD and let them fix it. If you don't have an AD close, any high-end watch AD will help you. They shouldn't mind that you didn't buy the watch from them - in the worst case they'll just charge you a small fee.

If you don't want to do that, then Ross' guide is excellent.

If you get a chance, could you post a pic of the Steelfish with the Ocean Racer strap? I am thinking of getting one for my Steelfish, although at $340.00 I must admit I am thinking twice.
I didn't know they are going to replace the Diver Pro. I think it's about $75.00, and it's still a sturdy, long-lasting strap. Maybe I will go in to my AD tomorrow and check on that. I have a Blacksteel, which I love with the Diver Pro, and I will have that watch for a long time. When the strap finally gives out, I would like to replace it with another Diver Pro, as the clasp is blackened steel, and I can simply swap clasps with the new strap.
