I like my Breitling, but I like it even more when it's clean. Throughout the day, it accumulates greasy stuff from my wrist, so I wash it by hand with soap and water every morning. This is normally done with bath soap, as I only perform the toothbrush and dish soap cleaning on occasion. Also, I'm mostly focusing on cleaning the metal and try to stay away from the crystal as much as possible. In any case, I'm wondering if this can potentially remove the AR coating on the crystal. Thoughts? -Craig |

It will be fine. It can be removed, but you'll need something stronger than soap and water. Cape Cod cloths can do it as they are mildly abrasive. |

Thanks, Roff. I knew the Cape Cod cloth was a big no-no and definitely stay clear of the crystal when polishing. -Craig |

Also note that bath soap has fats and moisturizers in it, so that'll leave a film on the metal and crystal. Try some diluted Simple Green w/ warm water and a soft cloth or brush; rinse thoroughly. It'll remove body oils and most crud. |
