Just got a Breitling 81610 with the subs at 6-9-12. There is another number on the caseback, would that be a serial number in order to ascertain what year the watch was made? This is my first Breitling, kind of a grail for a long time. |

Welcome to BreitlingSource and congratulations on the acquisition. The other number is a serial number, but after 1978 you can't use the serial number to date the watch. Modern Breitlings have a date code between the 6 o'clock lugs, but there is no way to date your watch accurately. It was produced between 1987 and about 1990. |

Thanks for the reply (the only reply as it turns out). Even if I can't pin down the year it was made I still love the watch. Up to now I've only seen it in pictures but for real it's really awesome. Now I got to go find me another B so the Nav won't be lonely. AZ |
