The Navitimer Olympus is a beautiful piece - the nicest looking Olympus made so far IMHO. Congrats on picking one up.

I am the proud new owner of my very first Breitling Navitime Olympus! It is such a beautiful piece. Only problem that i'm having is that i don't know how to properly set/read the moonphase function. I know how to adjust it, but i have no clue on how to know what the proper phase is or more importantly how to read it. I've googled for the answer but haven't had any luck. And the manual is pretty useless. Please let me know if you can help! thanks! |

The moonphase is designed to show a new moon when you first see the sliver of the moon on the left of the window and then that moves through until the moon fills the window at full moon and then slowly disappears as the moon wanes. To set it, the easiest thing to do is to set the moon to a new moon - that is the moon first appearing at the left of the window. Then find out how many days it has been since the last new moon and press the button that many times - so if new moon was a week ago, press the button 7 times from the new moon indication that you set. As a slight complication, the moon actually takes 29 1/2 days for a full cycle so the disk has two moons and does a full rotation every 59 days. That means that the new moon indication will lokk slightly different for adjacent cycles. |

thanks! i've been eyeing it for awhile but was hoping to find a good deal. and while on vacation in greece these last two weeks i couldn't pass up the deal i got. $5103 no tax! i spoke with few jewlery dealers out there and they all said buying watches in greece was the best deal because of the heavy discounts you get plus there is no tax! and with the euro being down, it was the best time to buy! |
