Hi

I have Chronomat Evo rose gold bezel roman index black dial.
I bought brand new from AD 7 month ago.

I noticed problem on roman index and date window finish.

I noticed about 2 month ago that the IIII index has color irregularity in gold surface. I thought it was due to reflection but it was actually the index that had color issue. the color looks like oil reflection on a surface which is colorful. I don't know if it is a stain or body oil from watchmaker. I can only see it in certain angle.

And about a month ago I noticed that the date window's gold finish wasn't nice and flat. The color is good, however if I look at it in certain angle, right side of the date window surface wasn't nice and flat. It looks like there is air underneath the gold plate like not a good 100% chrome plate job or paint on a car that has bubble underneath due to corrosion but the corrosion didn't surface yet kind of look. This also I can see it in certain angle.

I was debating myself if this is quality control issue at Breitling that I should send for service or is this good enough quality from Breitling that I should just wear it as is.

When I look at my wife's Colt GMT, I don't see any defect on indexes and date window. Only difference between Chronomat vs GMT is roman index vs numeral index and gold plate vs chrome finish.

Should I get service to replace the dial?

Thank you for reading this :)

It seems to me that you might have some water damage to the dial Pics would clear it up if you can capture that same angle, you could try to talk to your AD but by your description it sounds like a service requirement, the only thing is service center will find the cause and if it is water they will definitely blame you and charge some bucks to fix it. But it might not even be water problem. In any way talk to your AD then send it in to service center...
With some pics other more experienced guys would be able to help you...

Peace from NY

Without seeing it it's difficult to say what's wrong, but the bottom line is that it's not acceptable so the watch needs to be sorted.

If the problem is only visible from certain angles / under certain conditions then I suggest that you go via an AD so that they can see the issue.
