Best part of his ad, other then the stunning watch, is this line.....

I'M MIGHT BE A NEW EBAYER BUT I'M A VERY SERIES SELLER

Very Series, indeed!

Gotta love it!

Let's see who can come up with the stupidest questions to ask this seller!

I'll start....

"I've been searching for a high end mechanical timepiece, and came across your ad. Love the watch! Does it come with batteries"?

"Can you tint the crystal with a deep, dark tint to complete the all Black look"?

"If there is a problem with the watch down the road, where would I send it for repairs? My jeweler or watchmaker"?

Anyone else have some stupid questions we can ask?

One of my best friend is an AD and he had a Breitling watch come in for repair. It had tons of diamonds on the case and bracelet and my friend said it was very tasteless!

However each to their own. Anyway he looked for all the warning signs of a fake and then called Breitling to cross reference the serial numbers. It was a genuine Breitling, however it was originally a standard edition steel watch with no diamonds.

Breitling also said that they do not set diamonds in any material other than white/yellow gold and platinum. They apparently don't set high end diamonds in steel. Anyway, this customer had documentation from a shop that this watch was worth close to 100KGBP. Breitling however said that since it had been so heavily modified they class it now as a ------- cant remember the term but basically a non Breitling watch and therefore they will not touch it. They will not service it or anything. Well you can imagine the customers face when he was told this info as he bought it on vacation in good faith a few years ago...... And the depreciation on the watch was shocking.

Another nice thing I didn't know is that apparently there are so may breitlings that find their way back to the original owner if it has been reported stolen.

LOADS of stolen Breitlings that are sold on and on and somewhere along the line genuine people buy them in good faith and then send them in for service. These are then recovered and returned to the original owner.

I wonder if anyone on this forum has experienced any such thing?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe on the Breitling website they show some models with a Stainless bezel with diamonds set in them. I can't remember on what models though. maybe the Chronomat, but I'm pretty sure that I've seen that.
