Post subject: | AD Advice |
Hello! As you can obviously see, I am new, I was hoping for some advice. I may be coming up on my first Breitling purchase (Navitimer, or maybe a Datora). From the reading I have done, I am going to avoid online and go for an AD, and living in central London, I obviously have a large range of dealers to choose from. I was hoping to glean some information from the learned chaps on this forum to help me narrow down the choice. Any particular recommendations on a dealer? Will the prices/discounts differ significantly between dealers? What sort of a discount can I expect to get on those two models? What is the best way to go about obtaining such a discount? (I can't haggle to save my life ![]() Thanks in advance |

I know some UK members have purchased from George at Govberg in Philadelphia, PA. Also, Andrew Michaels in the UK has lots of good feedback. Both, coincidentally, have links on this page. AM on top, and Govberg on bottom. |

Welcome to BS Reg ![]() I am a novice at this watch bit but have owned 2 Breitlings (Hercules and SOH 46) and still have the Hercules. I got my first from Watches of Switzerland at the Royal Exchange and my second from Fraser Hart at Bluewater. Both times, I asked for a discount and was given 10% straight away and that was it. As for obtaining the discount, I can be quite shy but I just asked and they said yes in the blink of an eye. The only plus point I guess I can offer is that there is a guy at WoS at the Royal Exchange who seemed to be pretty well in the know on Breitlings and seemed to have an interest in watches and wasn't only a retail worker. Happy hunting! |

Thank you very much for the advice so far. I want to buy in the UK, despite the horrendous rip off we face with watches (and everything else), the nightmare of customs, import duty, VAT etc, are something I want to avoid. The discount being so straight forward is certainly heartening, thank you for that! |

Well if your looking in the UK definently give Andrew Michaels a shout, try phoning around or go in a few AD's for a look, no harm in asking but I would certainly give AM a chance! Welcome to BS by the way, happy hunting. |
