Help, I am in the market to buy a new SA I currently own a chronomat evo in black with steel bracelet and a navatimer world in blue with a blue leather strap. I was looking for a SA with a white face and steel bracelet to ad to my collection. However I can only locate a Black or blue model. These are Both beautiful watches and I LOVE the massive size, My problem is that the SA in black looks too much like my CE in black, and the blue version is such a dark blue it almost looks black. I would order a white one but I am told that It would be 5-6 Month wait which would surely mean a price increase during that time which I would like to avoid. MY AD will give me a great price on the black or blue that he has in stock. What should I do? Get the blue even though it is similar look to my Black CE or order the white and pay prob. much more :? Which version do you guys like better black, blue, White? I know I shouldn't pick a color just because it looks different from my others. But I am still having trouble making a decision. Would appreciate any input.

Thanks

Hi, On Sat. I was at my AD's looking at the same watch. I also asked about other colors beside the blue and black and he said the same thing about wait time. He told me that the blue was the most popular color for this watch. Good luck and best wishes....Wayne

5-6 months? Wow - that's a bit too long.

If I was you, I'd go for the white dial. That's what you wanted in the first place and when it comes to watches you have to like them completely. A compromise is not good enough. Look outside your dealer. One quick search at authenticwatches.com show that they have the SA with a white dial in stock, and with serials intact (as opposed to many other models they have). Price is $3695. This was the first internet dealer I looked at - there should be others as well.

It seems like you really want the white so I would get the white. If you order it from your AD (no matter the wait time) you should put some money down and they will honor the price when it shows up. If they won't do that I would walk. My AD will let me lay away a watch or order anything I want and they will honor the price from the day I put money down. I have the white dial SA and I love it!!!!!!

I can get the watch Blue or Black in stock for a very good price so to go to another dealer on line at a much higher price just because they may have a white one in stock for 36-3800.00 dollars is not worth it to me. and to go to an AD that may by chance have a white one, I am sure they will not discount at all = 4000.00 I love the watch, but love just as much getting a good deal.

Do I want the watch at any price or do I want the deal? :?:

That's a tough one, when I ordered my SA, I too was told that
I would have to wait 4 to 5 months. I was lucky since my AD
was able to get the one I wanted [ SA with white dial] in a month.
Your AD is offering a sweet discount. It comes down to will
you be happy with your choice. The reason why I chose the white dial is
that I have a black dial CA. I love both of them, but that SA
rocks!

Good luck!

Jim

It sounds to me you've got a great deal with your AD. But, it also sounds you really want the white dial... I guess there's only one option then - order the white dial from your AD, pay a small bit of the money up front to ensure you get the suggested price and finally wait (and hope they get it quicker than expected).

If I were you, I'd wait for the white dial. If I'm paying thousands of dollars for a watch I'm going to make sure it's the one I want. Another question you might want to ask yourself is if you want to flip the watch and use that money to buy the white dial (that is a really good price, after all). Of course, you might get stuck with a blue SA that you don't want....

Don't get we wrong, It is not that I dislike the blue or black. Infact I think that the Blue is my color of choice especially with the silver subdials. The problem is that I think that my EVO in black with silver subdials and steel bracelet looks very similar to the SA in blue or black enen though there is a substantial size differance. so the watch in white would have a different look than my other watches. Is this the way to make a decision or do you just get the color you think the watch looks best in?

I understand where you're coming from, having two watches where the only noticeable difference is the size seems a little redundant. I guess there' two ways of looking at it. If you buy each watch independently on what you like, then go for the blue. Personally, I think the blue looks different enough from the black that I would be ok with getting the blue. This is my school of thought. After all, I'm the one who has to look at it everyday, so I don't really care if people don't notice a difference, or if I got a good deal on it.

However, another way is to look at the buying the watch as part of a collection. If you're wanting variety, then go for the white. Maybe sometimes you feel like a white dial, or you feel white will match with most of your outfits (if you care about that). In that case you would feel better about the white dial.

But there is no right or wrong method in choosing a dial color. It's a very personal choice, and you'll just have to decide for yourself.

I guess what I am asking is... Does anyone else think that a Chronomat with a black face and silver dials looks too much like the SA in blue or black to own both watches.

No way.

The Super Avenger is nothing like the Chronomat. It's like night and day difference in any color.

I agree fully with Brian. You'll never get a SA to look similar to the Chronomat, no matter what dial color they are.
