Hi,

first of all i really enjoy reading the interesting posts in this forum. I searched the forum a couple of times but i have not found the final answers/infos i really need, so it is time for my first post . Please apologize if I have overseen information I`m now asking for.

I`m really confused and hope, that i can get some insight and tips for my "problem" :) I`m highly interested in adding a black Breitling Model to my Collection. I`m pretty confident, that i can "convince" my wife to agree purchasing one of the two models :D

Super Avenger Blacksteel was all the time my favourite, but now with the presentation of the 2010 Models i saw the Blackbird limited Edition....and now my confusion starts:

* they are both limited editions with this DLC material,correct?
* SA is modified ETA 7750
* Blackbird is modified ETA 2892

1. I thought the ETA 7750 is of higher quality than the ETA 28xx versions? Why the different calibers in such limited editions with exclusive pricing?
2. regardless of the size difference are there any other differences?
3. would you continue the search for a SA Blacksteel in mint condition or queue for the Blackbird LE at your favourite AD?

Thanks a lot in advance for interesting posts and

best regards from Germany

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Your points are accurate, and they are both DLC coated. However I'm not sure that I would agree that 7750 is better than 2892. They are very different approaches to movements - the 7750 is an integrated chrono with a reputation for being bombproof, the 2892 is a modular movement with a reputation for being fairly refined. I think that (in Breitlings) the quality is comparable - Breitling uses the highest grade of each movement.

The watches are different in the subdial layout, the big date on the BB, and the BB is from the more expensive Windrider range which uses different case construction techniques (more pieces) than the Aeromarine range that the Super Avenger is in.

WHich watch has to be your choice - try them both and see which one speaks to you.

@sharkman:

thanks a lot for your link - very very interesting watch, but the taxes in german for a premium watch like this coming from the U.S. :(
