Post subject:  Colt II automatic dial change?

Hi,

My Colt II automatic comes with a silver dial, which is looking a bit faded with some lettering fading too. If I send it to Breitling for a full service, would they change the dial as a matter of routine back to a new silver one? Is the cost of the dial considered an extra to the full service?

If they charge extra for the new dial, can I request to change the colour of the Colt II automatic dial to black or other colours?

Has anyone been in a similar situation before? Thanks.

There's a number of threads on dial changes on here. Use the search function (near the top right) and you'll find the latest info.

What I can say is that replacing a dial because it's faded will definitely not be included in the price of a full service. Yes they will do it if you ask them to, but it will cost.

This is an interesting one. Forgetting the colour change for a moment, would they replace the dial if it were faded and looked like it needed replacing? they do tend to send them back looking like new, I wonder if it would stretch this far?

They will recommend a new dial and let you decide whether you want to pay extra for it. I suspect that it will be cheaper to replace with the same colour dial than to change the colour because the latter also involves changing records, etc -and bluntly I get the feeling that Breitling wants to discourage it on current models.

Fading lettering on a practically new Colt II???
Have you exposed your watch to an exploding Supernovae?

I have the same watch, no fading and I won't expect any fading in the next years, expect I encounter this Supernovae or am forced to attend a nearby hitting meteorite...
