Hi Everyone,

I just recently received a gift of a Breitling Chrono-Matic 49. I noticed the chronometer second hand was off by 2 seconds, that didn't bother me. However, only having the watch for about a week the chonomatic second hand is now off by 10 seconds. I've tested the watch numerous times, and it always resets to 10 seconds. I've tested minute hand and it always resets perfectly.

This is my first Breitling and I have no clue what to do. Should I take it in for service? and How much would this service typically cost?

Thx

If it's in warranty then it will only cost patience while you wait for Breitling to fix it. My experience with Breitling service and the Skyracer mentioned in this thread was very good.

Already answere your question in the thread you started, please don't double post.

My Avenger Hurricane 12H has just started to display the issue you mention.
Only spent about 10 weeks at Breitling UK service centre this year thanks to their various levels of incompetence.

All I can recommend is to read the comments from the pervious posters and be patient with this mechanical issue. I had a similar issue with a Speedmaster and let my obsession with exactness winout and I sold the watch. I have regretted that from the second after I walked out of the UPS store. Do what needs to be done to make it right and then enjoy your watch. I was a fool and I regret my actions. I am not saying you would be as foolish as I was but am only trying to show what a knee jerk reaction can do long term.
Frank.
